Supporting entrepreneurship in VET education and training is increasingly important for governments as they seek to improve pathways to the labour market for youth. Given the youth unemployment challenge that is currently faced in Europe, entrepreneurship can offer opportunities for youth to create jobs for themselves and for others. The VET education and training system has an important role to play in supporting this agenda by providing entrepreneurship training and business start-up support. It is encourages creative thinking and promotes a strong sense of self-worth, initiative and a tolerance to failure, not only giving people the means to cope with an increasingly complex and uncertain world, but also a mind-set and capabilities to thrive upon it (Gibb, 2005).
